All Porsche 356 B, C and SC models originally used a 6-volt negative-earth electrical system. Porsche did not switch to 12 volts until the introduction of the Porsche 911 and Porsche 912 range. The Bosch 0 001 207 002 (SR21X) starter is therefore a 6V unit suitable for all of the Porsche 356 applications below.
